After many years spent in a Bangkok prison, an old man returns to his homeland – to Kazakhstan. Did he think that, thanks to the random fellow traveler, the handsome guy Igor, he would be drawn into a dangerous intrigue. Now, in order to survive himself and save Igor, he must unravel this ingenious ball, balancing “on the razor’s edge”, to make criminals get entangled in their own networks. And this is within the power of a person with courage, composure and ingenuity. Who is this old man? And how random is what is happening for him? His past is a mystery, his present is a chess game of life and death, his future … who knows?

The film refers us to the famous paintings of past years – the Trans-Siberian Express and The End of the Ataman. To some extent, it can be called a thematic continuation of the saga of the legendary Chekist. Despite the almost century-old gap between the events described, the heroes of all three paintings, in addition to the wonderful acting game of Asanali Ashimov, have much in common. Together they create a collective image of the Hero, a real man, strong in spirit, faithful to duty and honor. An image, character, which, no matter how times change, do not have a limitation period.
